Discussion Forum Rules

Users of the www.IWconnected.com (the “Site”) are entitled to contribute freely to our discussion forum , as long as they do so in a responsible and respectful manner. To ensure that both you and we are protected, we have developed a standard of conduct that is strictly enforced by us. This conduct standard should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Website Use and which contain important information about our liability and copyright matters.

Any comments posted on the discussion forum (“Contributions”) may be removed at any time in our absolute discretion without notice to you. The Discussion Forum is regularly moderated and we reserve the right to remove, disable access to or edit any Contributions. We reserve the right to identify you in response to a court order or threat of legal action. Messages posted on our discussion forum should comply with the following guidelines:

  1. No profanity or obscenities of any kind.
  1. No personal attacks on other participants.
  1. Defamatory, obscene, indecent, lewd, pornographic, violent, abusive, insulting, hateful, threatening and harassing comments are not permitted.
  1. Do not stray from the discussion topic.
  1. No impersonation of other participants or public figures. A user may choose an appropriate nickname as long as a real name is used in the personal information field (which is not publicly visible).
  1. No advertising or marketing of any kind, including non-profit organisations (unless authorised)
  1. No third party copyright material should be posted. Use links instead of quotes from sources rather than copying the material.
  1. No over-sized fonts, JavaScript, tables, headings or other advanced HTML commands are allowed. Please use only bold or coloured fonts to emphasise your points.
  1. Contributions must not promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
  1. Do not disclose the name, address, telephone, mobile or fax number, email address or any other personal data in respect of any individual.
  1. You must not infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person.
  1. You shall not breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as contractual duty or a duty of confidence.
  1. Contributions must not be in contempt of Court.
  1. We expressly exclude our liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of the Discussion Forum by any person in contravention of these rules.

 

Copyright

By submitting a Contribution to this forum, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that Contribution. Although you will own the copyright, we will have the right to freely use, edit, alter, reproduce, publish and/or distribute the material contained in your Contribution in all jurisdictions, to their fullest extent and for the period for which any such rights exist in that material.

Please also note that in accordance with the rules, you must ensure your Contribution does not infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any person. By submitting your Contribution you warrant you have the right to grant us the non-exclusive right to use it. The licence will be free of charge, perpetual and capable of sub-licence. We may exercise all copyright and publicity rights worldwide. If you are not in a position to grant such a licence to us, please do not submit the Contribution to the board.

Breach of the Rules

When we consider that a breach of these rules has occurred, we may at our discretion take such action as we deed appropriate. Failure to comply with these rules constitutes a material breach of the terms of use on which you are permitted to use the board, and may result in the following actions:

  • immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the forum;
  • immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of any Contribution already posted on the forum;
  • issue of a warning to you;
  • legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs and expenses) resulting from the breach;
  • for the legal action against you; and
  • disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel necessary or as required by law.

We exclude liability for all action we may take in response to breaches of the rules. These actions are not limited, and we may take any other action we deem appropriate.

Changes to Rules

We may revise these rules at any time. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any change we make, as they are legally binding on you.
